Valentine’s Day

Our Valentine’s Day art project, on display outside of our classroom! Each student created 2 or more hearts that were a design of their choosing. It is fun to see their personalities through their art work. The collage turned out beautifully!

5th grade book order fliers

This month, I sent home the following fliers:5th grade, Arrow Book Club, and Just Right Books.

Due to the amount of orders last month, we all earned a free $5 book with a minimum purchase of $10, which is very fun and a nice free reward! Thank you for the support last month! These coupons can be redeemed online or through turn in orders. See the coupon attached to the fliers sent home for more information! Please email me if you need a coupon code due to lost fliers or other circumstances 🙂

If you choose to order online, our classroom code is P8ZPH.

Orders are due back to class on Friday, February 19th.

Each order helps our classroom library grow for free!

Thank you and happy reading 🙂

Students picked a scene to illustrate from chapters 1, 2 or 3, showing the scenes that they are visualizing in their heads. Without asking, I know exactly what scene from the each of these students drew. They did an awesome job!

Can you guess who it is?

We were recently given the opportunity to experiment with 1:1 technology in our classroom. All students were recently set up with a Google Classroom account on a Google Chromebook and have been learning how to navigate through our digital classroom. We have been working on typing skills through and have worked our way through all Google apps. Students will be given the opportunity to set up their own blog in the near future and utilize other technology to enhance their learning.

This has been an amazing experience and I cannot wait to see where we go with this technology opportunity. We are able to practice using technology as well as limit our use of paper in the classroom by turning in assignments online through the classroom. It is a learning curve for all of us, but we have made significant progress in just a short amount of time!

Students are currently working on several projects on their Chromebook. They are completing a novel study of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe through Google Docs and are doing research on something space related and creating a class Google Slides presentation. As projects are completed, they will be shared on our page!
